Why we built Sprout

For four years we built sustainable, accessible websites for brands like ISDIN, Kering and the United Nations. Sprout puts everything we learned in everyone's hands.

Every site we built for a client proved the same thing: a website can work for everyone and still be light and fast. But one studio can only build so many, and new sites were going up faster than anyone was checking them. We started Sprout so every team can do this, not just the few who hire us.

The questions everyone asks first

Does my website need to comply with the European Accessibility Act?

Probably, if you sell products or services to consumers in the EU online. Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act covers services like online shops, booking and ticketing, consumer banking and e-books. Micro-enterprises (fewer than 10 staff and under €2 million turnover) are exempt for services. Each EU country sets its own rules and penalties: in Spain, it's Ley 11/2023. The technical standard behind it lines up with WCAG 2.1 AA, which is what our scan checks against. This isn't legal advice.

Does a scan mean my site is compliant?

No. Automated checks catch many issues, but not all, and no scanner can certify compliance. Sprout shows you where you stand and what to fix.

What do I get for free?

How much does Observability cost?

For organisations, it depends on how many sites you have: we agree a price on a short call, starting with a pilot. For agencies, plans start at €99 a month, excl. VAT, for up to 10 client sites.

Do I have to move my site to Sprout to monitor it?

No. Observability works on any platform, with no code to install.

How do you measure carbon?

We load your page in a real browser and measure every byte it transfers. Using the Sustainable Web Design Model (v4), we estimate the energy needed to send and show that data across data centres, networks and visitors' devices, then convert it to CO₂ with the global average grid intensity. If the site runs on verified green hosting (checked with the Green Web Foundation), we take that into account. It's an estimate rather than a reading from your servers, but it's consistent, so it's a fair way to compare pages and track improvements.
